Going on nearly two years strong, Daniel Berger has continued to churn out consistently good golf.

He comes to the John Deere Classic a rested man with his last start a T-7th three weeks ago at the U.S. Open. That was Berger’s fourth top-20 in his last five starts, which also includes T-3rd at the AT&T Byron Nelson.

The former Florida State Seminole has missed just one cut since February and earned his fourth career PGA Tour win this year at Pebble Beach. This is all on the heels of a 2020 where a win at Colonial highlighted four top-three finishes and six top-10s in just 17 events.

Berger is making his third appearance at TPC Deere Run. The Floridian posted T-5th (69-67-63-70) to finish three shots back in 2017 and T-33rd (66-66-72-69) in 2019.

“With the soft conditions you can attack the flags,” Berger was quoted by ASAP Sports in 2017. “If you don’t hit the fairways then it’s tough because the rough is deep.”

Berger is the highest ranked player in the field in the Official World Golf Rankings and FedEx Cup standings.

The 28-year-old ranks 25th on the PGA Tour in strokes gained tee to green (.95). His mix of enough distance and accuracy works great any week, but particularly at TPC Deere Run where it’s imperative to find a lot of fairways.

Berger is 14th in SG approach (.707) and is third among those in the JDC field behind Russell Heney in fourth (.857) and Matthew NeSmith in 10th (.726).

If you’ve still got DB available in your one-and-done league, this is a great time to trot him out.

Bryson's caddy switch can't help him in Detroit. dark. Next
