The man, the Mito, the legend.

If you’re looking for the next Will Zalatoris to emerge from the Korn Ferry Tour ranks, it might just be Mito Pereira.

The Chilean earned a battlefield promotion to the PGA Tour by winning his third KFT event of the season. Not even Willy Z did that.

Pereira won in back-to-back weeks in June at the Rex Hospital Open and the BMW Charity Pro-Am. His first win of this pandemic lengthened season came all the way back in February 20 at the Country Club de Bogota Championship.

The consecutive wins were the cherry on top of nine straight made cuts going back to March. Pereira added a T-2nd and two more top-10s in that span.

The 26-year-old made his third career PGA Tour start, and first since his promotion, last week at the Rocket Mortgage Classic. He only had enough status to get on the alternate list, but was high enough up to get into the field by Monday.

Pereira was unable to hang with countryman and friend Joaquin Niemann (T-2nd), but rounds of 72-71 were respectable. He was two shots off of the 3-under cut line.

With those nerves out of the way, I like Pereira to settle in and play better against a weaker field and easier course. He arrived to the Quad Cities early and will have more time to study TPC Deere Run.

The Texas Tech alum is 51st on the KFT in driving distance. He still gets it out there just fine at 305.1 yards a pop. He’s seventh in total driving and 12th in greens in regulation (72.9%).

Go ahead and impress your friends by getting Mito at a low price in your DFS lineup and watch him cash in a high finish.
