Kevin Na returns to the Quad Cities for the first time since 2017. His last memory of TPC Deere Run is a sour one (MC), but the rest of the resume at this venue is solid.

Na has made seven starts at the John Deere Classic. The Californian finished T-13th (68-66-71-65) in 2014 and T-8th (69-70-67-64) in 2016.

This is a good tournament for a short hitter like Na. The 37-year-old is 177th on the PGA Tour in driving distance (287) and 36th in fairway accuracy (66.17%).

How do you keep your card for nearly two decades without being able to bomb it like DJ or Rory? By getting up and down all day.

Na is tops on Tour in strokes gained around the green (.621). He’s 31st in sand saves (56.52%) and could very well hole one out this week.

I’d love to see Na try to walk in a bunker shot.

Na is looking to get his year back on track. He got off to a good start in 2021 by winning his second event of the year, the Sony Open. Waialae is a reasonable course comparison (grass types excluded).

Na fired a 61 in the third round at the Sony, which is tied for the lowest round on the PGA Tour this season.

Since then, the five-time PGA Tour winner is absent a top-10. To his credit, he does have a T-11th at the WGC-Workday Championship and T-12th at the Masters.

Na has made eight of 12 cuts worldwide in 2021, including two of his last three. Two of three missed cuts came at majors where distance was a bigger factor than it will be at the JDC.
