2021 3M Open: Top 10 power rankings at TPC Twin Cities
Hammerin’ Hank Lebioda continues to crank out high finishes. Just a couple months ago, it looked like he was destined for Korn Ferry Tour Finals later this year to try to keep his PGA Tour card.
A streak of seven made cuts and three straight top-10s now has him as all but a lock for the FedEx Cup Playoffs. The 27-year-old comes to the 3M Open off a week of rest after going T-5th at the Travelers Championship, T-4th at the Rocket Mortgage Classic and T-8th at the John Deere Classic.
Lebioda had real chances in these events to claim his first PGA Tour victory. At least his T-4th in Detroit was his best ever performance based on Official World Golf Rankings points.
Lebioda halved his world rank from 328 to end 2020 to now 163.
He’s making his third 3M Open appearance where he looks to extend a streak of eight consecutive under-par rounds at TPC Twin Cities. Lebioda finished T-34th (69-68-67-68) in 2019 and T-26th (69-70-65-69) in 2020.
The Floridian had an illustrious junior and collegiate career. Lebioda was ACC Freshman Player of the Year and ACC Player of the Year as a senior at Florida State.
He ranks 24th on the PGA Tour in strokes gained putting (.478) and 45th in SG approach (.393).
Lebioda expects to hit lots of greens in regulation regardless if he has a good driving week. He’s sixth in proximity from the rough (39’3”) and 27th in proximity from the fairway (30’10”).
Lastly, Lebioda’s first in putts from within three feet, holing all 530 attempts this season.
