Patrick Reed is on a solid run of golf in recent months, a rare missed cut ast week at The Open withstanding. He was on a streak of four made cuts in a row highlighted by fifth at Muirfield Village and no worse than T-32nd.

The Texan had three top-20s in four starts prior to the streak.

Reed now arrives to the 3M Open for the second time. He debuted in 2019 with four rounds in the 60s to grab T-23rd (69-67-68-67).

Team Reed made no worse than bogey all week and got up and in from the sand all four times.

Normally a strong putter, Reed was outside the top 100 in the 2019 3M Open field in strokes gained putting. Seeing these greens for the second time should help.

In what I think is fair to assume is a typo, the PGA Tour states Reed tied for-588th that week in driving distance (318).

On the season, the Augusta State alum ranks ninth in SG putting (.674) and is eighth in SG total (1.586).

You’re making hay with four birdies per round these days. Reed is 26th averaging 4.05.

His proximity numbers don’t vary a whole lot playing from the rough or fairway, meaning he doesn’t need a great driving week to win, nor will it guarantee he’ll win, either.

The nine-time PGA Tour winner won early in the year at the Farmers Insurance Open. Since then, Reed owns more top-10s (four) than missed cuts (three).

One of those came last week at The Open. It snapped a streak of four top-32s. Getting back to the U.S. a couple days earlier could be advantageous to reacclimate to the heat and time change.
