Phil Mickelson knows how to use his personality and wit, which has made him one of the most loved PGA Tour players. He oozes confidence, is extremely personable and is flat out hilarious.

We all remember the video he took before the third round of the 2019 Masters as he drove up Magnolia Lane, where he said he was going to “hit bombs and attack pins.” That video was awesome and continues to be one people refer to when talking about his personality.

Well, Lefty is at it again with the witty videos, but this time at the 2021 BMW Championship. Despite missing the cut last week at the Northern Trust, Mickelson finished at No. 70 on the FedEx Cup points list, putting him in the field in Maryland in the dead last position.

The 51-year-old opened the video with, “Who is ready to ball?” and then made light of the fact he’s dead last in the field, saying he has nothing to lose and will lay it all on the line.

To make the video even better, he gave Harry Higgs a fantastic shout-out as the two of them will play with each other in the first and second rounds.

Mickleson went head-to-head with Higgs in a money match last week as he and his partner Joel Dahmen defeated Higgs and Keith Mitchell, so the pairing comes at a great time.

The two of them together in a group makes for perfect TV. We can only hope for some zingers out on the course because their energy will feed off each other. While they can’t necessarily trash talk as they did in their match, it’ll still be a fun group to watch because they both have personalities that draw in people.

In the video, Lefty wore an unbuttoned white polo, discussing how he will play with Higgs this week and how Higgs is a stallion. Mickelson went as far as saying he was doing the unbuttoned look in honor of “Stallion Higgs.” It doesn’t get any better than having Phil Mickelson give you a nickname like that — what an honor.

Outside the “Stallion Higgs” comment, the best was the Mickelson closing remarks saying he’s got Andrew “Real” Deal driving and that he wants to drive like him this week, and said, “If I do, I’m going low… later.”

I’m not sure if it’s the dad camera angle the whole time, the “later” at the end, or the video in general, but it gives off such a positive and happy vibe.

The video is so clever and well-thought-out. How can anyone dislike Mickelson after that video or not love it?  Mickelson’s wit and charm are unmatched, but if anyone could match it, that man would be Higgs.
