2021 Ryder Cup: Let’s go, the greatest event of the year has begun
The three-year wait is finally over as the 2021 Ryder Cup is finally underway.
Seeing the first-tee stands slap full of people gives you chills.
Even hearing the Americans booing the Europeans made it feel like all was right in the world. We are all for good sportsmanship, but at the same time, it’s incredible to see the Americans supporting their country.
I mean seeing a pack-house at 7 a.m., shoot earlier than that on local time. If that isn’t dedication, I’m not sure what is. In all honesty, I’m Googling flights to Kohler, Wisconsin, because I want to be a part of this atmosphere.
There is nothing like the Ryder Cup, and the wait is finally over — I wish it could last longer than three days, but I’ll cherish and record every day so I can watch until it gets old.
Whistling Straits looks immaculate, and the setup so far is perfect. The Americans and the Euros all look ready for action. I mean, they had to be escorted to the course by police — INCREDIBLE!
I’m not sure if I can get any more excited about this Ryder Cup or hold it in — so get ready for a ton of live-tweeting and articles full of excitement.
As Americans, having a Ryder Cup on American soil hits different, and it’ll be bragging rights if we can win. There is a slim chance with all that is going on, and well, the Europeans are strong in these events, but I feel this crowd could end up being the 13th man on the team.
Justin Thomas and Jordan Spieth going head to head against Sergio Garcia and Jon Rahm going off first sets the tone. Hopefully, the Americans can find a way to beat the two Spaniards. JT and Spieth need to wake up and do the dang thing to set the tone.
Though this match concerns me the most, Team USA needs JT and Spieth to tie or win.
Then having Team USA sending out Dustin Johnson with Collin Morikawa against Paul Casey and Viktor Hovland for the second pairing — Steve Stricker is out for blood, and I’m living for it.
I was questioning the Brooks Koepka, Daniel Berger pairing, but against Lee Westwood and Matthew Fitzpatrick, the FSU duo can end this match quickly. They should have no problem getting the point.
Then finishing out this Day 1’s morning foursome portion with Patrick Cantlay and Xander Schauffele against Rory McIlroy and Ian Poulter could go either way. I need Cantlay and Schauffele to be the silent killers this morning.
Day 1 is finally upon us, and we need to enjoy the heck out of this incredible Ryder Cup. We waited long enough for this moment, so let’s enjoy it and embrace every positive and negative moment.
