Brooks Koepka was one shot away from playing the weekend last year at El Camaleon. I like him getting into the money this time.

After an up and down 2021 with injuries, some wondered if Koepka was going to hold his weight at the Ryder Cup. While he was far from the star of the show, he went 2-2-0 and caused no problems in the locker room with Bryson and the other 10 players on the squad.

Koepka has since posted a couple less than stellar results in two events following Whistling Straits. With that said, we all know he can flip the switch and play great in a heartbeat.

The former Florida State Seminole ranked seventh on the PGA Tour last season in strokes gained off the tee (.631). While his length isn’t a huge asset at the World Wide Technology Championship, there isn’t a week on the PGA Tour where it doesn’t at least help a little bit.

BK also had a good season with his irons, coming in at 25th in SG approach (.482).

Eighteen-under-par or better has won annually since 2019. With no rain and manageable wind in the forecast, it expects to be a birdie fest again in Mexico. That’s fine for Koepka, who was 19th in birdie average (4.21).

The 31-year-old’s made five cuts in a row leading in and six of his last seven. He’ll look to summon the form he had this summer that led to four top-sixes, including T-2nd at the PGA Championship and T-6th at The Open Championship.
