Robert Streb became the first two-time RSM Classic winner when he hoisted the trophy in 2020. The journeyman locked up PGA Tour status through the 2022-23 season thanks to rounds of 65-63-67-68 that got him into a playoff where he took down another Sea Island stalwart, Kevin Kisner, in a playoff.

It was the third straight year that 19-under was the winning score.

Streb made just two bogeys all week and no doubles or worse. A 9-under round Friday at the Plantation course helped him eventually hold on for the win.

He scrambled and hit greens in regulation both at an 83.33% clip.

The former Kansas State Wildcat won in his Sea Island debut in 2014 in another playoff. Streb posted 69-66-68-63 to get into a playoff where he defeated Brendon de Jonge and Will Mackenzie.

These remain his only two PGA Tour wins.

That isn’t to say Streb hasn’t had some nice stretches of golf in his career elsewhere. He’s not a bomber by any means, but he can get hot with his irons and short game.

The 34-year-old journeyman may seem like more of a horse for the course pick than most in this week’s power rankings. Streb’s still shown some nice form lately to be labeled as just that.

Streb closed in 65 to vault up to T-5th last week at the Houston Open. He made no double bogeys or worse all week in tough conditions at Memorial Park and hit 40 of 52 fairways.

That was Streb’s second top-10 in the last three starts. The other was T-9th against a strong field at the CJ Cup.
