If you missed the third round of this year’s Pebble Beach Pro-Am you sure missed a bunch on an action-packed Saturday, and no I’m not talking about the numerous occasions that Bill Murray was shown on our screens.

The action I am referring to came from the PGA professionals themselves, a tournament that looked all but finished after Friday’s second round has been given new life. Seamus Power, who entered the day leading by five shots, saw his lead evaporate over one round. Jordan Spieth, who was seemingly out of this tournament after two days found new life after literally saving his round from the cliffs of despair.

When the second round concluded it was Power and then everyone else who had half a chance of catching him this weekend, especially as he was preparing to play Monterey Peninsula in the third round, the course that had played as the easiest of the three after round one, and the second easiest at the halfway point.

Things didn’t quite go as planned on Saturday at the Pebble Beach Pro-Am and now things are wide open with everything still yet to be decided. It’s now a three-way tie at the top of the leaderboard going into the final round with Beau Hossler, Andrew Putnam, and Tom Hoge all at 15 under par. The group contains two players who will be looking for their first PGA Tour win in both Hoge and Hossler, while Putnam has just one win on the PGA Tour after he won the Barracuda Championship in 2018.

Another group of three sits just behind the leading pack at 14 under par, a group that contains two of the biggest names in golf with both Jordan Spieth and Patrick Cantlay currently just one shot back, Joel Dahmen completes the trio and he will be in search of his second PGA win after earning his first last year at the Corales Puntacana Resort & Club Championship.

Seamus Power sits one shot further back at 13 under par and he will have to settle for the role of the hunter on Sunday, though perhaps that is to his benefit after what happened on Saturday when he shot a three-over-par, 74.

Leaders to begin final round action at the Pebble Beach Pro-Am starting at 12:33 pm Eastern Time

Jordan Spieth and Joel Dahmen will begin their final round action from Pebble Beach Golf Links first hole at 12:33 pm EST.

Patrick Cantlay will join Tom Hoge shortly after on the first at 12:44 pm EST, before the final group consisting of Beau Hossler and Andrew Putnam go off at 12:55 pm EST. All players will play Sunday’s final round at Pebble Beach.

Patrick Cantlay is the betting favorite going into Sunday’s final round at the Pebble Beach Pro-Am

(Patrick Cantlay +275)

Cantlay was the favorite to start the week, and after the third round he has once again claimed the title at the top of the boards, this despite being a shot back going into the final round. He will be hoping for a better outcome this time after coming close in 2021 when he finished tied for third place.

(Jordan Spieth +325)

It’s been a relatively slow start to the year for Spieth, but once again he looks poised for another fine finish at Pebble Beach. Jordan has three top 10 finishes in his last five starts here, this includes last year when he also finished T3rd along with the aforementioned Cantlay.

(Tom Hoge +375)

Hoge, who finished 12th at the Pebble Beach Pro-Am in 2021, has a very good chance to rewrite his fairytale ending at this tournament. He was just two shots back entering the final round last year when he was unable to get across the line, he will be hoping for a different outcome this year as he aims for PGA win number one.

(Andrew Putnam +650)

Putnam has started 2022 nicely and he has carried that into this week so far after shooting a 68, 4 under par round on Saturday, which has him tied for the lead. He has started the year with a T27th, and T14th finish, and he will be looking to earn his second career PGA win on Sunday and his first at Pebble.

(Joel Dahmen and Beau Hossler +850)

Dahmen sits one shot back going into the final round at the Pebble Beach Pro-Am, while Beau Hossler will begin the day tied for the lead and in the final group.

The 26-year-old Hossler has more or less had a tough time on Tour since he came close to his first PGA win at the Houston Open in 2018 when he was famously denied victory by Ian Poulter.  The University of Texas Longhorn has had a string of missed cuts since the Fortinet Championship back in September, and this spark back to life will be a welcome sight. Hossler will look to take that major next step on Sunday and become a winner on the PGA Tour for the first time.

Joel Dahmen’s best finish in 2022 came at the Sentry Tournament of Champions in early January, he has since missed the cut in both of his other starts. His best finish at the Pebble Beach Pro-Am came in 2020 when he finished T14th and he has made the cut in his last four appearances here, he will be looking for his first win at Pebble Beach, and his second career PGA victory after he broke through and earned his first win on Tour in 2021.
