This week the PGA Tour travels to Phoenix, Arizona, for the 2022 Waste Management Phoenix Open. Let’s take a look at this week’s PGA Tour from a fantasy golf perspective.

Before I discuss my fantasy golf player selections I wanted to emphasize that the purpose of this article is not to provide an exact lineup for a specific fantasy provider. Having stated that, this article will provide multiple player options in an effort to assist the reader in generating a unique lineup that will hopefully have the potential to win a GPP (guaranteed prize pool) contest!

Here are my fantasy golf/DFS player selections for the 2022 Waste Management Phoenix Open.

Jon Rahm

The 2021 U.S. Open champion arrives at this week’s PGA Tour event in rather good form. Jon Rahm has accumulated two top-three finishes in his last four tournaments played on the PGA Tour, including a second-place result at the 2022 Sentry Tournament Of Champions last month.

In relation to this week’s current listed 2022 Waste Management Phoenix Open field, in the last 12 rounds played on the PGA Tour, Jon Rahm ranks first in strokes gained off the tee, second in strokes gained ball striking, and sixth in strokes gained tee to green.

It should be noted that Rahm finished ninth at the 2020 Waste Management Phoenix Open.

Bubba Watson

Bubba Watson fired a final round 64 at last week’s 2022 Saudi International en route to an eventual second-place finish.

If you are looking for a player to fit the narrative of a “course horse” look no further as you have found your man. That man’s name is Bubba Watson. Let me be more specific. Bubba Watson has played this week’s PGA Tour event 11 times since 2011. In those 11 tournaments just mentioned, Watson has accumulated an impressive nine top 29 finishes, including a third-place result at the 2020 Waste Management Phoenix Open.

Keith Mitchell

Keith Mitchell has accumulated three top 12 finishes in his last four tournaments played on the PGA Tour, including a seventh-place result at the 2022 Sony Open last month.

In relation to this week’s current listed 2022 Waste Management Phoenix Open field, in the last 12 rounds played on the PGA Tour, Keith Mitchell ranks third in bogey avoidance and third in strokes gained off the tee.

Matt Kuchar

The 43-year-old American has accumulated two top 22 finishes in his last four tournaments played on the PGA Tour, including a seventh-place result at the 2022 Sony Open last month.

Since 2017, Matt Kuchar has played the Waste Management Phoenix Open five times. In those five events just mentioned, Kuchar has accumulated four top 16 finishes, including a fourth-place result at the 2019 Waste Management Phoenix Open.

Additional golfers to consider: Hideki Matsuyama: Webb Simpson: Brian Harman: Nate Lashley.
