This week, the PGA Tour presents fantasy golf fans with one of the most prestigious events on the annual schedule, the 2022 Genesis Invitational.

Before I discuss my fantasy golf player selections I wanted to emphasize that the purpose of this article is not to provide an exact lineup for a specific fantasy provider. Having stated that, this article will provide multiple player options in an effort to assist the reader in generating a unique lineup that will hopefully have the potential to win a GPP (guaranteed prize pool) contest!

Now let’s shift our focus to my DFS player selections for the 2022 Genesis Invitational.

Xander Schauffele

Xander Schauffele has accumulated three top 18 finishes in his last four tournaments played (DP World Tour and PGA Tours combined), including a third-place finish at the 2022 Waste Management Phoenix Open last week.

In relation to this week’s current listed 2022 Genesis Invitational field, in the last 50 rounds played on the PGA Tour, Xander Schauffele ranks 12th in strokes gained approach, 17th in strokes gained tee to green, and 11th in bogey avoidance.

Xander has played this week’s PGA Tour event four times since 2018. In those four tournaments just mentioned, Schauffele has accumulated four top 23 finishes, including a 15th place result at the 2021 Genesis Invitational.

Max Homa

The 31-year-old American arrives at this week’s PGA Tour event in rather good form. More specifically, Homa has accumulated two top 15 finishes in his last three tournaments played on the PGA Tour, including a 14th place result at the 2022 Waste Management Phoenix Open last week.

It should also be noted that Max Homa won the 2021 Genesis Invitational.

Matthew Fitzpatrick

The 27-year-old arrives at this week’s Genesis Invitational on the heels of two consecutive top-ten finishes on the PGA Tour, including a sixth-place result at the 2022 AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am two weeks ago.

In relation to this week’s current listed 2022 Genesis Invitational field, in the last eight rounds played on the PGA Tour, Matthew Fitzpatrick ranks fourth in birdie or better percentage and first in strokes gained on par fives.

Adam Scott

Adam Scott fired a final round 69 at the 2022 Dubai Desert Classic three weeks ago en route to an eventual tenth place finish.

Adam Scott also checks the box for me when it comes to previous event/course form. Scott has played the Genesis Invitational eight times since 2012. In those eight tournaments just mentioned, Adam Scott has accumulated six top 17 finishes, including a win at the 2020 Genesis Invitational.

Additional golfers I like this week: Dustin Johnson: Patrick Cantlay: Marc Leishman: Lanto Griffin.
