6. Russell Henley (-3.07)

Henley’s January and February were highlighted by one week – really two days — in Hawaii.

He opened the Sony Open with rounds of 62-63, eventually creating a playoff (-2.57) with Hideki Matsuyama, which Henley lost.

That brush with glory polished a PGA tour West Coast resume that in other respects was only decent. Henley tied for 14th (-0.55) at the Amex, and tied for 33rd at his other two stops, the WM Phoenix Open (+0.01) and the Genesis Invitational (+0.04).

That playoff loss was the main reason why Henley still left the West Coast with an additional $1,046,915 in his pocket.

5. Scottie Scheffler (-4.07)

Scheffler’s playoff victory (-1.84) over Patrick Cantlay at the WM Phoenix Open highlighted a consistently strong West Coast swing.

He made four starts on the swing, all four resulting in top 25 finishes, two of them in the top 10.

Aside from the WM, Scheffler’s best showing came during his follow-up appearance, at the Genesis (-1.43), where he tied for seventh. He tied for 20th at the Farmers (-0.70), and for 25th at the Amex (-0.10).

Victories have a nice way of padding one’s bankroll. That was true of Scheffler, who pocketed $2,017,463 in official money during those four West Coast stops.
