2.       Jon Rahm (-5.62)

Rahm tackled five of the West Coast events on the PGA Tour and he performed well in all five. The only plausible criticism was his inability to actually win any of the five.

His year began with a solo runner-up at the Sentry (-2.18), followed by a tie for 14th at the Amex (-0.55.)

He tied for third at the Farmers (-1.50), and for 10th at the WM Phoenix Open (-1.01).

His tie for 21st place at this past weekend’s Genesis (-0.38) marked the swing’s low point. Still, Rahm grossed $1,699,630 in those five events.

1.       Patrick Cantlay (-6.04)

Like Rahm, Cantlay failed to win any of the five events he entered. But also like Rahm, he consistently challenged for the top spot, giving him the top position for the swing overall.

It began with a solo fourth at the Sentry (-1.08), and continued through a solo ninth two weeks later at the American Express Classic (-1.72).

He tied for fourth at the ATT Pebble Beach Pro-Am (-1.72), and lost to Scheffler in the playoff at the WM Phoenix Open (-1.84).

Cantlay’s only less than front-rank showing came at this past weekend’s Genesis (+0.04) when he had to settle for a tie for 33rd.

He could console himself with the $1,971,600 in official money he took home.
