4. Collin Morikawa

Best Case: Collin Morikawa’s incredible record at major championships continues and his legendary status grows as he adds a green jacket to his collection. The 2021 champion golfer of the year follows finishes of 18th (Masters), 8th (PGA), 4th (U.S. Open), 1st (British Open), last year with an incredibly strong start to the 2022 major season. His pink Sunday polo shirt looks great with a green jacket wrapped around it.

Worst Case: Morikawa comes closer to resembling the player who missed the cut at the Players Championship and who finished 68th at the Valspar, than he does the golfer who has been incredible in major championships. The game isn’t quite there for Collin and the Masters comes just a bit soon for Morikawa to truly compete to the best of his abilities, he scrapes through to make the cut but finishes 38th in the end.

5. Cameron Smith

Best Case: Cameron Smith passes Scottie Scheffler in the player of the year race as he wins the Masters on the back of his victory at TPC Sawgrass last month. The Aussie begins his 2022 Masters rejuvenated after several weeks off. His elite short game and tournament history prove to be a lethal combination for the rest of the field. After two top 5 finishes and a top 10 finish in three of his last four visits to Augusta National, Smith finally gets his hands on the green jacket in 2022.

Worst Case: The extended time off results in Cameron entering this week a bit rustier than he would have liked, the short game isn’t quite as sharp as it was as a result, and this combined with continued inaccuracies off the tee proves costly. The Australian posts his worst finish at the Masters since 2019 when he finished 51st.
