2022 RBC Heritage: Top 10 Power Rankings At Harbour Town
Can one of the biggest hitters and best drivers in the game compete on a claustrophobic course like Harbour Town?
The answer so far has been both yes and no.
On the bright side, Dustin Johnson shook off a pair of missed cuts his first two times at the RBC Heritage to make four in a row since he began annually coming to this event as an RBC brand ambassador in 2018.
Each of those four weekends produced results between T-13th and T-28th, rendering no top-10s but no dismal performances, either.
Dustin Johnson has played well at the RBC Heritage since 2018
Last year, the South Carolinian and Coastal Carolina alum posted 70-67-71-66 for T-13th in his home state event.
He led the field in strokes gained off the tee (5.133) and was eighth in SG putting (5.151). Everything in between was too sloppy to put DJ in contention.
“I like the golf course, yeah. I really do. It actually sets up really well for me,” Johnson was transcribed by ASAP Sports in 2019. “I like the golf holes — I don’t really like No. 11 and No. 9, but other than that I like the golf course a lot.”
Johnson is rounding into form currently. The 2020 Masters champion took T-12th last week at Augusta National. That was good for his fourth top-12 in his last six starts, which also includes a run to the WGC-Dell Match Play semifinals.
On the season, the 37-year-old is 20th in SG off the tee (.5) and 31st in SG approach (.456). If he can clean up on and around the greens, he’ll be due to pick up his 25th PGA Tour win before long.
