2022 RBC Heritage: Top 10 Power Rankings At Harbour Town
Sungjae Im was the 18-hole leader at the Masters and was in or near the top-10 throughout the tournament en route to a T-8th finish.
It wasn’t the result he was looking for, but a second top-10 finish at Augusta National in three attempts is something to hang his hat on.
“Overall I’m satisfied for the week,” Im was transcribed by ASAP Sports. “Obviously, it’s a disappointing finish. Not the finish that I wanted, but overall I’m satisfied with the results.”
The 24-year-old star should be satisfied with his first high finish since the West Coast swing. Im won early in the 2021-22 PGA Tour season at the Shriners Children’s Open and added three more top-11s in Hawaii and California.
Im can breathe a sigh of relief that a lot of the big names he couldn’t top a week ago, including top-two finishers Scottie Scheffler and Rory McIlroy, are not in the field at the RBC Heritage.
Im comes to Harbour Town for the fourth time. He missed the cut his first two tries but found his footing here in 2021. The South Korean fired 68-65-69-72 to finish T-13th but only five back of second place on a crowded leaderboard.
Im was in fourth place after 54 holes but couldn’t mount a charge on Sunday to catch Stewart Cink, et al. He didn’t have any eye-catching stats on the week, ranking between 14th and 49th in all strokes gained categories.
This season, Im ranks 13th in total strokes gained (1.447) and is above average in all SG categories. He’s also fifth in par-4 scoring average (3.94).
