Coming off his best performance in a major championship, Corey Conners should come to the RBC Heritage a fairly confident man.

While the Canadian never truly contended at Augusta National, he strung together 70-73-72-70 to grab T-6th. To not have a round higher than 73 in tough conditions is impressive. So is a third-straight top-10 at the Masters.

“I think every part of my game was working this week,” Conners was transcribed by ASAP Sports. “I would have certainly liked to make more birdies, but I was able to get myself out of trouble when needed, make the par-saving putts or the par-saving up-and-downs to keep momentum going and not get myself going backwards.”

Conners continued his stellar play from 2022 that’s led to five straight made cuts.

The Kent State alum isn’t doing it against lousy fields as he took third place at the WGC-Dell Match Play and T-11th at the Arnold Palmer Invitational.

Conners can pull confidence from the last couple trips to Harbour Town. He MC’d at the Heritage in 2015, 2018, and 2019 before finally cashing a check in 2020 with a T-21st (68-63-69-70) and T-4th (67-64-72-68) in 2021.

Last year at Hilton Head, Conners flashed the overall game that has led to a lot of consistency. He was top 30 in the field in all strokes gained categories, including tee to green where he was sixth (8.116). Conners was also T-3rd in greens in regulation (76.39%).

On the season, the 30-year-old is 15th on the PGA Tour in SG tee to green (1.113). He’s a great driver, which isn’t as important this week, but the rest of his skill set is good enough to potentially win his second career PGA Tour event here in South Carolina.
