2022 Wells Fargo Championship: Top 10 Power Rankings at TPC Potomac
Tyrrell Hatton will be getting to know TPC Potomac for the first time this week just like a lot of his playing competitors.
Fortunately, as a well-traveled player, the Englishman has experience playing well on a variety of new and different courses.
Hatton’s also one of the better talents in the field this week. By age 30, he’s already got six DP World Tour titles and one PGA Tour title under his belt.
He’s yearning for his first trophy anywhere since 2020.
Hatton has played well enough lately that another one looks apparent if he can keep his emotions under control in the heat of the battle on Sunday.
He’s got four top-10s and no missed cuts worldwide in 2022. Hatton nearly won his second Arnold Palmer Invitational title, finishing a shot back of Scottie Scheffler at Bay Hill.
He comes to the Wells Fargo Championship off of a week of rest. We last saw Hatton and countryman Danny Willett team up to take T-21st at the Zurich Classic of New Orleans.
Hatton’s putter has never been better. He leads the PGA Tour in strokes gained putting (1.123) and is just one of two players gaining more than a shot per round on the greens.
A lack of length off the tee hurts Hatton, especially at the majors. It shouldn’t be as big of a deal here at TPC Potomac.
His short game will keep him in the thick of things against a relatively weak field assembled for the Wells Fargo Championship.
