Fantasy Golf: 2022 AT&T Byron Nelson DFS Player Selections
By Hans Geevers
This week, the PGA Tour presents fantasy golf fans with the 2022 AT&T Byron Nelson. A talented field of golfers (that includes Jordan Spieth!) will arrive in Dallas, Texas to compete in this week’s PGA Tour event. Let’s take a look at this week’s 2022 AT&T Byron Nelson from a fantasy golf perspective!
Before I discuss my fantasy golf player selections I wanted to emphasize that the purpose of this article is not to provide an exact lineup for a specific fantasy provider. Having stated that, this article will provide multiple player options in an effort to assist the reader in generating a unique lineup that will hopefully have the potential to win a GPP (guaranteed prize pool) contest!
Now let’s shift our attention to what I love doing the most!
Here are my fantasy golf/DFS player selections for the 2022 AT&T Byron Nelson.
Will Zalatoris
Zalatoris has accumulated five top 26 finishes in his last six events played on the PGA Tour, including an impressive sixth-place result at the 2022 Masters last month.
Will Zalatoris certainly checks the box for me when it comes to key player statistics. In relation to this week’s current listed 2022 AT&T Byron Nelson field, in the last 12 rounds played on the PGA Tour, Will Zalatoris ranks third in birdie or better percentage, sixth in strokes gained tee to green, tenth in strokes gained approach, and second in strokes gained ball striking.
Zalatoris finished 17th at the 2021 AT&T Byron Nelson.
Cameron Champ
The talented young American arrives at this week’s AT&T Byron Nelson on the heels of two consecutive top-ten finishes on the PGA Tour, including a sixth-place result at the 2022 Mexico Open at Vidanta two weeks ago.
In relation to this week’s current listed 2022 AT&T Byron Nelson field, in the last eight rounds played on the PGA Tour, Cameron Champ ranks first in GIR (greens in regulation), seventh in birdie or better percentage, and 17th in bogey avoidance.
Jhonattan Vegas
Jhonattan Vegas has accumulated three consecutive top 18 finishes on the PGA Tour, including a 15th-place result at the 2022 Wells Fargo Championship last week.
In relation to this week’s current listed 2022 AT&T Byron Nelson field, in the last eight rounds played on the PGA Tour, Jhonattan Vegas ranks tenth in strokes gained tee to green, 13th in birdie or better percentage, and fifth in strokes gained approach.
It should also be noted that Vegas finished ninth at the 2021 AT&T Byron Nelson.
Mito Pereira
Since the beginning of March, Mito Pereira has played four tournaments on the PGA Tour. In those four events just noted, Pereira has accumulated three top 27 finishes, including a 13th place result at the 2022 Valero Texas Open last month.
Additional players I like this week: Jordan Spieth: Adam Hadwin: Brandon Wu.
