This week, the PGA of America presents the fantasy golf community with the 2022 PGA Championship. A talented field of golfers (including Masters Champion Scottie Scheffler) will arrive in Tulsa, Oklahoma, looking to win the second major championship of the year. Let’s take a look at this week’s 2022 PGA Championship from a fantasy golf perspective!

Before I discuss my fantasy golf player selections I wanted to emphasize that the purpose of this article is not to provide an exact lineup for a specific fantasy provider. Having stated that, this article will provide multiple player options in an effort to assist the reader in generating a unique lineup that will hopefully have the potential to win a GPP (guaranteed prize pool) contest!

Here are my fantasy golf/DFS player selections for the 2022 PGA Championship!

Max Homa

Since the beginning of January, Max Homa has played eight tournaments on the PGA Tour. In those eight events just mentioned, Homa has accumulated an impressive six top 17 finishes, including a win at the 2022 Wells Fargo Championship two weeks ago.

In relation to this week’s current listed 2022 PGA Championship field, in the last 24 rounds played on the PGA Tour, Max Homa ranks fifth in strokes gained ball striking, first in strokes gained tee to green, tenth in strokes gained approach, and third in bogey avoidance.

Scottie Scheffler

The talented young American arrives at this week’s major championship in rather good form. Since the beginning of March, Scheffler has played four events on the PGA Tour. In those four tournaments just mentioned, Scheffler has accumulated two wins (2022 Masters: 2022 Arnold Palmer Invitational).

Scheffler certainly checks the box for me when it comes to key player statistics. In relation to this week’s current listed 2022 PGA Championship field, in the last 24 rounds played on the PGA Tour, Scottie Scheffler ranks first in birdie or better percentage, third in GIR (greens in regulation), seventh in strokes gained approach, and ninth in strokes gained tee to green.

Hideki Matsuyama

The 2021 Masters champion has accumulated three consecutive top 20 finishes on the PGA Tour, including a third-place result at the 2022 Byron Nelson last week.

I should also note that Hideki Matsuyama has accumulated two wins on the PGA Tour this season. Hideki won the 2022 ZOZO Championship in October of last year. Matsuyama followed up that impressive result with another victory at the 2022 Sony Open in January.

Christiaan Bezuidenhout

The South African has accumulated two top 20 finishes in his last four events played on the PGA Tour, including a 12th place result at the 2022 AT&T Byron Nelson.

It should be noted that Bezuidenhout has multiple tournament wins on the DP World Tour. My point is that Christiaan has illustrated previously that he can perform at a high level when necessary under the brightest lights.

Additional golfers I like this week: Jordan Spieth: Shane Lowry: Cameron Champ: Rickie Fowler.
