Kramer Hickok had quite the adventure from a greenside bunker during his third round of the 2022 PGA Championship on Saturday. The Austin, Texas, native has had a crazy season on the PGA Tour so far with finishes as high as 4th at the Houston Open last year and stretches of missed cuts including the five consecutive he currently had coming into this week’s Major.

Hickok, who notably had a runner-up finish at last year’s Travelers Championship, managed to break that string of missed cuts this week at Southern Hills after he opened his PGA Championship with consecutive rounds of 71.

The 30-year-old struggled through his opening nine on Saturday with four bogeys on route to an outward 39. It was after he started his back nine that he fashioned up what can only be described as a pretty miraculous bogey on the par 4, 12th.

Kramer Hickok had a crazy experience from a greenside bunker at the PGA Championship on Saturday.

Kramer found himself in trouble after finding one of the tricky greenside bunkers with his second and little did he know what was in store for him over the next several minutes. He was faced with a difficult shot for his third and was unable to get the ball out of the bunker, he then hit his 4th shot which once again rolled back into the bunker, only this time the shot came back off of him and was buried leaving him with a third attempt from the bunker.

Hickok was staring at the possibility of double bogey or worse at this point, but then to cap off his crazy spell spent in the bunker he then proceeded to hole out for bogey.

There have already been some pretty bizarre occurrences at this year’s PGA Championship, including yesterday when Cameron Smith’s errant shot struck another player. You can add Hickok’s experience on Saturday to that list.

Kramer will be looking to close out his third round in style after the miraculous bogey save on the 12th, and he certainly won’t be forgetting his adventure from the sand anytime soon.
