Most golfers at any level can only dream of the shot Adam Hadwin holed during round two of the 2022 Memorial Tournament – a coveted ace.

Teeing off from the 16th hole at Muirfield Village Golf Club in Dublin, OH, Hadwin sinks his first hole-in-one during his time on the PGA TOUR. The ace came on the 2,863rd par-3 played by Hadwin during stroke-play events on TOUR.

The 34-year-old Canadian brought his Callaway Apex TCB 7-Iron to the box for the 194-yard shot on the No. 16 par-3. He has had a strong iron game all season. Though his iron game has cooled off a little bit recently, Hadwin is still ranked above the PGA TOUR average on approach shots between 175 and 200 yards.

His hole-in-one shot was a thing of beauty. Hitting a slight fade off the tee, Hadwin admired his shot as his ball traveled with a speed of129 mph, landed towards the front of the green, and promptly rolled straight into the cup.

In a very relatable moment for golfers and golf fans, Hadwin exploded with jubilancy on his achievement, tossing his club, celebrating with some cheers, and dishing out high-fives to anyone within reach.

Ranked number 113th in the Official World Golf Rankings, Adam Hadwin played his first PGA TOUR event in 2010. He later became more of a household name during the 2017 season, where he bagged his only tour victory at the Valspar Championship.

Hadwin has put together some solid results this season. Through eighteen events, he has had four top-10 and six top-25 finishes – with his best finish coming at Valero Texas Open where he ended up tied for fourth. He’s only missed the cut in five of the eighteen events he played in.

Hadwin would go on to make the cut and he finished his second round at four-under on Friday, bringing him back to even par for the event. Currently sitting T39, Adam Hadwin will look to continue the momentum from his ace on No. 16 throughout the remainder of the weekend.
