U.S. Open: McIlroy and Scheffler Joint Favorites at The Country Club
The year’s third Major is right around the corner now, here is a breakdown of the latest odds for the 2022 U.S. Open Championship at The Country Club.
The Memorial Tournament is officially in the books now and we are now just a week and a bit away from 2022’s third Major Championship, the 122nd U.S. Open at The Country Club in Brookline, Massachusetts.
The Country Club is one of the oldest courses in the country and it last played host to the U.S. Open back in 1988 when Curtis Strange held off Nick Faldo after a playoff to claim the prestigious prize.
Defending U.S. Open winner Jon Rahm has slipped down the oddsmaker’s boards and is no longer listed as the favorite to lift the famous trophy for a second consecutive year.
Instead, that honor belongs to co-favorites Scottie Scheffler and Rory McIlroy with a trio of names grouped behind them heading into the U.S. Open.
Here is how the rest of the current top ten favorites shake out over on WynnBet.

Both Rory McIlroy and Scottie Scheffler are worthy favorites to win this year’s U.S. Open. McIlroy was in contention at Muirfield through the first couple of rounds before fading away over the weekend. Nevertheless, the Northern Irishman has been as consistent as they come so far this year.
Rory has racked up seven top 10 finishes or better in ten starts in 2022, this includes finishes of 2nd at the Masters and 8th at the PGA Championship in the year’s first two Majors. The four-time Major Champion has posted top 10 finishes in his last three United States Open appearances.
World number one Scottie Scheffler continued his incredible season in his last start at the Charles Schwab Challenge where he nearly racked up another victory this year if it wasn’t for a fantastic showing from Sam Burns who drained an incredible putt to oust Scheffler after a playoff.
Scottie has won three times in 2022 and he will be hoping to add another Major to his collection after claiming the green jacket at Augusta in April. The Masters winner recorded his best finish at a U.S. Open last year when he finished 7th at Torrey Pines.
Last year’s U.S. Open champion Jon Rahm is listed in the next group alongside both Cameron Smith and Shane Lowry.
The Spaniard now has five top 10 finishes in 2022 after recording another top 10 finish at Muirfield this past weekend. Rahm, who won on the PGA Tour at the Mexico Open at Vidanta last month, has a win and a 3rd place finish in two of his last three U.S. Open starts.
The final U.S. Open Qualifiers take place across the country on Monday as some of golf’s biggest names, including Rickie Fowler, attempt to join the 79 plus players already in the field for the 122nd U.S. Open.
The 122nd U.S. Open gets underway on Thursday, June 16th.
