This week, the PGA Tour travels to Brookline, Massachusetts for the 2022 U.S. Open.

This event’s field is stacked with the best golfers in the world, including defending champion Jon Rahm. Let’s take a look at this tournament from a fantasy golf perspective.

Before I discuss my fantasy golf player selections I wanted to emphasize that the purpose of this article is not to provide an exact lineup for a specific fantasy provider.

Having stated that, this article will provide multiple player options in an effort to assist the reader in generating a unique lineup that will hopefully have the potential to win a GPP (guaranteed prize pool) contest!

Here are my fantasy golf/DFS player selections for the 2022 U.S. Open.

Justin Thomas

Justin Thomas arrives at this week’s major championship in rather good form. Since the beginning of January, Justin Thomas has played 12 tournaments on the PGA Tour.

In those 12 events just mentioned, Thomas has accumulated an impressive nine top 20 finishes, including a win at the 2022 PGA Championship four weeks ago.

In relation to this week’s current listed 2022 U.S. Open field, in the last 50 rounds played on the PGA Tour, Justin Thomas ranks first in strokes gained tee to green, fourth in strokes gained ball striking, sixth in strokes gained approach, and third in bogey avoidance.

Rory McIlroy

Rory McIlroy arrives at this week’s 2022 U.S. Open on the heels of five consecutive top 18 finishes on the PGA Tour, including a win at last week’s 2022 RBC Canadian Open.

In relation to this week’s current listed 2022 U.S. Open field, in the last 50 rounds played on the PGA Tour, Rory McIlroy ranks second in strokes gained tee to green, eighth in GIR (greens in regulation), fifth in strokes gained ball striking, and fifth in strokes gained on par fives.

Gary Woodland

Since the beginning of March, Gary Woodland has played 11 tournaments on the PGA Tour.

In those 11 events just mentioned, Woodland has accumulated six top 24 finishes, including a fifth-place result at the 2022 Honda Classic.

It should also be noted that Gary Woodland won the 2019 U.S. Open.

Adri Arnaus

The 27-year-old Spaniard has accumulated three top 30 finishes in his last four tournaments played (PGA and DP World Tours combined), including a win at the 2022 Catalunya Championship last month.

Additional golfers I like this week: Cameron Smith: Tony Finau: Sam Burns: Mito Pereira.
