2022 John Deere Classic: Top 10 Power Rankings at TPC Deere Run
Coming off his best career finish in a major championship, I like Adam Hadwin to keep the momentum rolling.
The Canadian was the first-round leader a couple weeks ago at the U.S. Open en route to T-7th.
It was Hadwin’s fourth made cut in a row and eighth out of the last nine. He’s a one-time PGA Tour winner at the 2017 Valspar Championship but could be destined for another soon.
The 34-year-old has four top-10s this season, all in 2022, and had three in a row this spring highlighted by T-4th at the Valero Texas Open.
Hadwin can also feel good about successfully putting together a wooden dresser, which his wife chronicled on Twitter during the off week. That can be a tricky task!
Hadwin comes to the John Deere Classic for the first time since 2016.
His two appearances at TPC Deere Run resulted in solid paydays.
Hadwin took T-18th (68-70-69-65) in 2015 and T-8th (71-68-67-64) in 2016. Seven under-par rounds and eight out of eight of par or better are pretty decent.
A shorter hitter like him can play well at this event and his accuracy pays off. Hadwin is 44th on the PGA Tour in fairway accuracy (64.58%) and is outside the top 100 in distance.
He hits tons of greens, too, at 30th (68.38%) and is 14th in sand saves (61.7%). Hadwin was 19th last season in strokes gained putting per round (.471) and is on pace to remain in the top 100 in this stat for his entire career at 79th currently (.14).
