Adam Hadwin made the cut at the PGA Championship and recorded his best career finish in a major with a T-7th last month at the U.S. Open. The Canadian’s playing great golf this season and it’s too bad he just missed out on qualifying for last week’s Open Championship.

The bright side is the week off gives him a rest advantage on some of the field heading over from Scotland or the Barracuda Championship out west. Not to mention, the 3M Open has been a successful stop for Hadwin.

The inaugural event in 2019 was best known for Matthew Wolff prevailing over Collin Morikawa and Bryson DeChambeau in a battle of phenoms. Also in the hunt was Hadwin, who co-led after a first-round 64 and stayed in contention with 66-69-67 to finish fourth.

Top-10 strokes gained approach and putting was the formula for the successful week.

Hadwin returned in 2021 and co-led after 36 holes en route to T-6th (67-65-73-68). He hit 75% of fairways to rank T-9th for the week and was solid all around except for with his short game.

The 34-year-old owns five top-10s this season.

The most recent came on the big stage at The Country Club where he was the 18-hole leader.

Hadwin has an elite short game that ranks seventh on the PGA Tour in strokes gained per round (.493) around the green. He also rolls it well at 66th in SG putting (.175).

The University of Louisville grad won his only PGA Tour event at the 2017 Valspar Championship. He’s an accomplished enough player to warrant another trophy or two before it’s all said and done.

This week is a great opportunity for Hadwin to pounce.
