Chez Reavie won his third career PGA Tour event last week at the Barracuda Championship. The 40-year-old prevailed in the modified Stableford format, posting scores of 9-19-9-6 to hold off a 14-point Sunday by Alex Noren to win by one.

It’s not easy playing with the lead, even in alternate field events.

Reavie held up under the pressure of the 36-hole and 54-hole lead.

He’s not long off the tee, but was able to use elevation at the Tahoe Mt. Club to gain distance while remaining remarkably straight off the tee. Reavie was T-2nd in the field in driving accuracy at a whopping 85.71%. He was also first in scrambling at 84.21%.

The Arizona State alum comes to the 3M Open for the second time. He was in contention here last year with rounds of 66-67-70-71 to finish T-11th just five shots back.

Reavie was fifth in total strokes gained around the green (3.693) and eighth in SG tee to green (7.6558) despite sitting 140th in driving distance (282.9).

On the season, he’s fourth in driving accuracy (70.93%).

Along with his win at the Barracuda, Reavie was also in the top 10 recently at the Travelers Championship (T-8th).
