Since the LIV Golf Tour first began a couple of months ago, they have succeeded in luring the World’s top golfers, using millions of dollars and ideal scheduling to entice them.

Since that time many have chosen to make the switch with hopes of a brighter future. Big names like Dustin Johnson, Bryson DeChambeau, and Brooks Koepka have all made the jump, to name just a few.

The Tour is getting stronger, and with unique formats, the product is only improving.

However, one aspect of the overall product that seemingly slipped between the cracks was the on-air production.

The first couple of events were underwhelming due to both a lack of knowledge and personality from the LIV Golf broadcast team.

Improving this area now seems to be a top priority for Greg Norman and LIV Golf, as they recently announced the signing of David Feherty, the much-respected analyst with an infectious personality.

Feherty will be departing NBC Sports after 7 years, after having previously worked with CBS for over two decades.

Feherty will be the main analyst for 8-10 LIV Golf events this season, with the chance to increase this number in the coming years.

The contract was recently finalized for 5 years, at a staggering $20 million, which is on par with the piles of cash that the Saudi investors have been putting towards the growth of the LIV Tour.

Many are criticizing Feherty’s decision to leave NBC for LIV Golf.

Feherty’s charity is a part of the 9/11 Memorial Fund, and with the Saudis’ involvement in the September 11th attacks, it seems to be a confusing move for Feherty.

It would also appear as though LIV Golf is far from done in its efforts to improve its broadcast.

Recent rumors indicate that former NBA star and current TNT analyst Charles Barkley is considering the transition as well.

When asked about his potential involvement, he stated that the option is there, for the right price.

"“I’m gonna meet with LIV. Truth — to always be transparent and honest. They called me and asked me would I meet with them. And I said yes.”"

This would be a massive addition for LIV Golf, as Barkley is one of the most popular and revered voices in all of sports.

If Norman can add both Feherty and Barkley in a short time, their production could now easily match or better the PGA Tour’s.

And who knows? Nick Faldo recently resigned from CBS Sports and the Golf Channel, and the rumors involving LIV Golf have been swirling ever since.

Next. Cameron Smith needs to say ‘no’ to LIV Golf. dark

Just another stress point for Jay Monahan and his staff to have to deal with as a top-level broadcast could pull even more golf fans to the new rival Tour.

LIV Golf continues to grow and it is growing fast.

I’m sure many around the World, including Monahan, thought LIV Golf would be a minor issue, but it is slowly turning into a complete product.

With more and more events being scheduled for LIV Golf next year, the PGA Tour may need to start getting more creative as more of its stars look to bolt for LIV Golf.
