After Tony Finau won this week’s Rocket Mortgage Classic Twitter rejoiced.
Tony Finau is on some kind of roll right now, it is the kind of run that he has never been on before, at least while on Tour.
Just one week after his electric come-from-behind win at the 3M Open, Tony Finau put on quite the encore in the Motor City.
The now, four-time winner, was nearly flawless this week in Detroit. Tony drove the ball immaculately, peppered greens in regulation time and time again, and rolled his rock beautifully en route to a dominant five-shot victory.
The 32-year-old didn’t even have a single blemish on his scorecard until Sunday’s final round on the back nine when he suffered his first bogey of the week on the par 3, 11th hole.
Tony Finau climbed to 7th in the FedEx Cup standings following his win at the Rocket Mortgage Classic, and with the type of run he is on at the moment it wouldn’t shock anyone if he went on to lift the FedEx Cup in Atlanta in just a few weeks.

Tony Finau…The Closer?
There has never been any doubt about the talent that Tony Finau possesses, yet for the longest time, Finau found himself coming up just short in the biggest moments time and time again.
Tony became widely known as ‘ Top 10 Tony’ due to his incredible record of consistent top 10 results without winning.
But after back-to-back wins in the most impressive of manners, there is a sense that the floodgates are now at long last open for Finau.
Twitter reacts to Tony Finau winning for a second week in a row
After two wins in his first 211 starts on the PGA Tour, Tony Finau has now gone back-to-back. This might be all he needed to make that step into the uppermost echelon. Just a little more confidence in closing down the stretch. Now he's got it. Watch out.

We’ve long wondered just how good Tony Finau could be, with his raw ability, if he could only become comfortable closing tournaments out. Feels like we’re about to find out. The floodgates—they are open.
