Fantasy Golf: Wyndham Championship DFS Player Selections
By Hans Geevers
This week, the PGA Tour presents golf fans with the final regular season event of the season, the 2022 Wyndham Championship. Let’s take a look at this week’s PGA Tour event from a fantasy golf perspective.
Before I discuss my fantasy golf player selections I wanted to emphasize that the purpose of this article is not to provide an exact lineup for a specific fantasy provider.
Having stated that, this article will provide multiple player options in an effort to assist the reader in generating a unique lineup that will hopefully have the potential to win a GPP (guaranteed prize pool) contest!
Here are my fantasy golf/DFS player selections for the 2022 Wyndham Championship.
Billy Horschel
Billy Horschel has accumulated three top 26 finishes in his last five tournaments played (PGA and DP World Tours combined), including a win at the 2022 Memorial Tournament.
In relation to this week’s current listed 2022 Wyndham Championship field, in the last 12 rounds played on the PGA Tour, Billy Horschel ranks first in GIR (greens in regulation) and second in bogey avoidance.
Billy Horschel also checks the box for me when it comes to previous event/course history.
Horschel has played this week’s PGA Tour event three times since 2018. In those three events just mentioned, Horschel has accumulated three top 11 finishes, including a second-place result at the 2020 Wyndham Championship.
Tyler Duncan
Last month, Tyler Duncan fired a second-round 64 at the 2022 Barbasol Championship en route to an eventual 13th place finish.
In relation to this week’s current listed 2022 Wyndham Championship field, in the last 50 rounds played on the PGA Tour, Tyler Duncan ranks 18th in strokes gained tee to green and 19th in strokes gained ball striking,
It should also be noted that Tyler Duncan finished 13th at the 2020 Wyndham Championship.
Denny McCarthy
Denny McCarthy has accumulated three top seven finishes in his last five tournaments played on the PGA Tour, including a sixth-place result at the 2022 John Deere Classic four weeks ago.
McCarthy also finished ninth at the 2020 Wyndham Championship.
Christiaan Bezuidenhout
The talented young South African arrives at this week’s PGA Tour event in rather good form. More specifically, Bezuidenhout has accumulated two top 16 finishes in his last three tournaments played, including a second-place result at the 2022 John Deere Classic.
Additional golfers I like this week: Webb Simpson: Matt Wallace: Chesson Hadley.
