This week, the PGA Tour presents golf fans with the first event of the FedEx Cup playoffs, the 2022 FedEx St. Jude Championship. Let’s take a look at this important tournament from a fantasy golf perspective.

Before I discuss my fantasy golf player selections I wanted to emphasize that the purpose of this article is not to provide an exact lineup for a specific fantasy provider.

Having stated that, this article will provide multiple player options in an effort to assist the reader in generating a unique lineup that will hopefully have the potential to win a GPP (guaranteed prize pool) contest!

Here are my fantasy golf/DFS player selections for the 2022 FedEx St. Jude Championship.

Xander Schauffele

Xander Schauffele has accumulated two wins (2022 Genesis Scottish Open: 2022 Travelers Championship) in his last three tournaments played on the PGA Tour.

In relation to this week’s current listed 2022 FedEx St. Jude Championship field, in the last 12 rounds played on the PGA Tour, Xander Schauffele ranks first in three-putt avoidance, third in strokes gained putting, and ninth in birdie or better percentage.

Scott Stallings

Scott Stallings has accumulated four consecutive top 13 finishes on the PGA Tour, including a fourth-place result at the 2022 John Deere Classic last month.

In relation to this week’s current listed 2022 FedEx St. Jude Championship field, in the last 12 rounds played on the PGA Tour, Scott Stallings ranks ninth in strokes gained approach, 16th in strokes gained around the green, and 12th in strokes gained ball striking.

It should also be noted that Scott Stallings finished second at the 2013 FedEx St. Jude Classic.

Patrick Cantlay

The talented American arrives at this week’s first FedEx Cup playoff event in outstanding form. More specifically, Cantlay has accumulated six consecutive top 14 finishes on the PGA Tour, including an impressive second-place result at the 2022 Rocket Mortgage Classic two weeks ago.

Let us not forget that Patrick Cantlay won the 2021 FedEx Cup. My point is simple. Clearly, the man knows how to win playoff events.

Additional golfers I like this week: Tony Finau: Billy Horschel: Tyrrell Hatton: Andrew Putnam.
