Fantasy Golf: Sanderson Farms Championship DFS Player Selections

After a one week absence, the PGA Tour returns to the golf schedule with the Sanderson Farms Championship. A quality field of talent (including defending champion Sam Burns) will travel to Jackson, Mississippi, for a chance to hoist the winner’s trophy on Sunday. Let’s take a look at this week’s PGA Tour event from a fantasy golf perspective.

Before I discuss my fantasy golf player selections I wanted to emphasize that the purpose of this article is not to provide an exact lineup for a specific fantasy provider.

Having stated that, this article will provide multiple player options in an effort to assist the reader in generating a unique lineup that will hopefully have the potential to win a GPP (guaranteed prize pool) contest!

Here are my fantasy golf/DFS player selections for this week.

Fantasy Golf: 2022 Sanderson Farms Championship DFS Player Selections.

Sahith Theegala

The talented young American arrives at this week’s Sanderson Farms Championship in rather good form. Theegala has accumulated three top 15 finishes in his last four tournaments played on the PGA Tour, including a 15th place result at the 2022 BMW Championship in August.

Theegala also finished eighth at the 2021 Sanderson Farms Championship.

Jimmy Walker

Two weeks ago, Jimmy Walker fired a third-round 69 at the Fortinet Championship on his way to an eventual 25th place result.

Due to the fact that Jimmy Walker played relatively well at the Fortinet Championship, I decided to take a hard look at Walker’s statistics relative to the field.

After four rounds of competitive play at the Fortinet Championship, relative to the field, Walker ranked first in strokes gained approach, gaining an impressive 6.8 strokes on the field.

Taylor Moore

Taylor Moore has accumulated two top six finishes in his last five events played on the PGA Tour, including a fifth-place result at the 2022 Wyndham Championship last month.

It should also be noted that Taylor Moore finished 17th at the 2021 Sanderson Farms Championship.

J.T. Poston

Since the beginning of July, J.T. Poston has played eight tournaments on the PGA Tour. In those eight events just noted, Poston has accumulated six top 21 finishes, including a win at the 2022 John Deere Classic.

In relation to this week’s current listed Sanderson Farms Championship field, in the last 24 rounds played on the PGA Tour, J.T. Poston ranks tenth in strokes gained putting and tenth in strokes gained tee to green.
