This week, the PGA Tour travels west to the state of Nevada for the Shriners Children’s Open. Let’s take a look at this week’s tournament from a fantasy golf perspective!

Before I discuss my fantasy golf player selections I wanted to emphasize that the purpose of this article is not to provide an exact lineup for a specific fantasy provider.

Having stated that, this article will provide multiple player options in an effort to assist the reader in generating a unique lineup that will hopefully have the potential to win a GPP (guaranteed prize pool) contest!

Here are my fantasy golf/DFS player selections for this week’s Shriners Children’s Open.

Fantasy Golf: 2022 Shriners Children’s Open DFS Selections

Patrick Cantlay

Since the beginning of July, Patrick Cantlay has played six tournaments on the PGA Tour. In those six events just noted, Cantlay has accumulated an impressive five top-eight finishes, including a win at the 2022 BMW Championship in August.

In relation to this week’s current listed Shriners Children’s Open field, in the last 12 rounds played on the PGA Tour, Patrick Cantlay ranks second in strokes gained tee to green, eighth in strokes gained ball striking, and 12th in GIR (greens in regulation).

Patrick Cantlay also checks the box for me when it comes to previous event/course history. Cantlay has played this week’s PGA Tour event four times since 2017. In those four tournaments just mentioned, Cantlay has accumulated four top-eight finishes, including a win at the 2017 Shriners Children’s Open.

Tom Hoge

Tom Hoge has accumulated three top 12 finishes in his last five tournaments played on the PGA Tour, including a fourth-place result at the 2022 3M Open in July.

It should also be noted that Tom Hoge has played well at this week’s PGA Tour event in the past. More specifically, Hoge finished 14th at the 2021 Shriners Children’s Open.

Tom Kim

The talented young Korean arrives at this week’s tournament in outstanding form. Tom Kim has accumulated three top 13 finishes in his last four events played on the PGA Tour, including a win at the 2022 Wyndham Championship.

Andrew Putnam

Andrew Putnam has accumulated four top 30 finishes in his last five events played on the PGA Tour, including a fifth-place result at the 2022 FedEx St. Jude Championship in August.

Putnam finished 11th at the 2021 Shriners Children’s Open.

Emiliano Grillo

Emiliano Grillo fired a second-round 65 at last week’s Sanderson Farms Championship en route to an eventual fifth-place finish.

In relation to this week’s current listed Shriners Children’s Open field, in the last eight rounds played on the PGA Tour, Emiliano Grillo ranks first in GIR (greens in regulation) and fourth in birdie or better percentage.

Grillo is known as one of the best pure ball strikers on the PGA Tour. That skill will serve him well this week.

Additional golfers I like this week: Matthew NeSmith: Garrick Higgo.
