Adrian Meronk is making his debut at the Butterfield Bermuda Championship. A wealth of talent and athleticism can help him overcome a lack of familiarity with Port Royal Golf Club.

The 6-foot-6 29-year-old has found success on the DP World Tour and is looking to translate it in the Western Hemisphere. Meronk became the first Polish player to win on the DP World Tour when he won the 2022 Horizon Irish Open. That’s a Rolex Series event, which means it came against a higher quality field with an elevated purse.

Meronk finished ahead of Irishmen Seamus Power and Shane Lowry, as well as one of the DP World Tour’s top golfers, Ryan Fox. A closing 66 to finish it out was impressive.

That was one of seven top-10s for Meronk on that circuit in 2022.

He also made his first cut in a major last year when the East Tennessee State University alum finished T-42nd at The Open Championship.

Meronk enters on a streak of three straight made cuts, all of which were against decent fields. He took T-11th at the Cazoo Open de France, T-22nd at the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship, and T-45th a couple weeks ago at the Estrella Damm NA Andalucia Masters.

Getting used to a narrow track like Valderrama should help for Bermuda.

He’s eighth on the DP World Tour’s Race to Dubai standings. Meronk ranks 23rd in driving distance (299.6). It won’t be a skill he can flex too much this week at the Butterfield Bermuda Championship, but there are still opportunities when he can use it to his advantage.
