This week, the PGA Tour presents fantasy golf fans with the Waste Management Phoenix Open. Let’s take a look at this week’s tournament from a fantasy golf perspective!

Before I discuss my fantasy golf player selections I wanted to emphasize that the purpose of this article is not to provide an exact lineup for a specific fantasy provider.

Having stated that, this article will provide multiple player options in an effort to assist the reader in generating a unique lineup that will hopefully have the potential to win a GPP (guaranteed prize pool) contest!

Here are my fantasy golf selections for the 2023 WM Phoenix Open!

Jon Rahm

Since the beginning of August, Jon Rahm has played seven tournaments on the PGA Tour. In those seven events just noted, Rahm has accumulated six top-eight finishes, including two wins (2023 Sentry Tournament Of Champions: 2023 American Express).

In relation to this week’s current listed 2023 Waste Management Phoenix Open field, in the last 24 rounds played on the PGA Tour, Jon Rahm ranks first in strokes gained off the tee, tenth in strokes gained putting, 11th in GIR (greens in regulation), and first in birdie or better percentage.

Jon Rahm finished tenth at the 2022 Waste Management Phoenix Open.

Brendon Todd

The 37-year-old American has accumulated two top-21 finishes in his last three tournaments played on the PGA Tour, including an impressive second-place result at last week’s 2023 AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am.

I also like the fact that Todd has posted quality results at this week’s PGA Tour event in the past. Since 2020, Brendon Todd has played the Waste Management Phoenix Open two times. In those two events just mentioned, Todd has accumulated two top-26 finishes, including a 22nd-place result in 2021.

Sungjae Im

Since the beginning of October, Sungjae Im has played seven events on the PGA Tour. In those seven tournaments just mentioned, Im has accumulated four top-18 finishes, including a fourth-place result at the 2023 Farmers Insurance Open two weeks ago.

In relation to this week’s current listed 2023 Waste Management Phoenix Open field, in the last 50 rounds played on the PGA Tour, Sungjae Im ranks seventh in strokes gained tee to green and sixth in strokes gained off the tee.

It should also be noted that Sungjae Im finished seventh at the 2019 Waste Management Phoenix Open.
