Adrian Meronk is making waves as Poland’s first big-time golfer. And when I say big-time, I mean it. He’s a whopping 6-foot-6.

Meronk’s won twice worldwide in the last year, getting it done at a Rolex Series event on the DP World Tour at the Horizon Irish Open and again on the DP World Tour/PGA Tour of Australasia at the ISPS Handa Australian Open.

He was the first of his countrymen to claim a trophy on the DP World Tour.

In 2022, Meronk was 12th on the tour in scoring average (70.18). He was also 24th in driving distance (309.94). Early in 2023, he’s eighth in scoring average (69.00).

Meronk made the cut in his only major championship start last year, taking T-42nd at The Open Championship.

Last week, Meronk became the first Pole to make a cut in a PGA Tour event when he finished T-45th at the Genesis Invitational.

The East Tennessee State University alum also owns in 2023 a T-10th at the Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship and T-4th at the Ras Al Khaimah Championship on the DP World Tour.

This week will be Meronk’s Honda Classic debut.

With the Europeans losing some of their Ryder Cup stalwarts to LIV, I wouldn’t be surprised to see Meronk in the mix for a spot in Italy this fall.

Even though the field is relatively weak in Palm Beach Gardens, Meronk could help his stock by playing well this week and perhaps earning more PGA Tour starts.
