Justin Rose has about as much course history at Innisbrook as anyone this week; and particularly among the contenders. While the Englishman has not won at the Copperhead course, he’s made eight of 10 cuts and placed T-30th or better every time he’s played the weekend.

Rose has three top-10s, including in his penultimate start in 2018 when he took T-5th (70-69-66-72) to finish three shots back at 7-under.

T-5th matches his best finish at the Valspar Championship previously set in 2011 (70-65-65-74).

"“It’s a little bit more difficult than some of the other tournaments we play due to, it can get pretty breezy.” Rose was transcribed by ASAP Sports in 2012. “I feel like that plays into my hands a little bit with my iron play”"

Rose won for the 11th time on the PGA Tour and the first time since 2019 when he prevailed last month at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am.

The seasoned veteran was unfazed by having to take a lead into a Monday finish at one of golf’s most famed venues.

Rose ranks fourth on the PGA Tour this season in sand saves (68.29%), so he’s equipped to navigate around the 60 bunkers on property this week. He’s also 18th in total strokes gained per round (1.148) and is in the positive in every SG category.

Even at age 42, Rose is proving he can still compete, even in designated events like last week’s. He carded 69-73-67-71 to take T-6th at the Players Championship where he finished just two shots out of third place.
