This week, the PGA Tour presents golf fans with the 2023 Corales Puntacana Championship. Let’s take a look at this week’s tournament from a fantasy golf perspective!

Before I discuss my fantasy golf player selections I wanted to emphasize that the purpose of this article is not to provide an exact lineup for a specific fantasy provider.

Having stated that, this article will provide multiple player options in an effort to assist the reader in generating a unique lineup that will hopefully have the potential to win a GPP (guaranteed prize pool) contest!

Here are my fantasy golf/DFS selections for the Corales Puntacana Championship!

Thomas Detry

Since the beginning of November, Thomas Detry has played ten tournaments (PGA and DP World Tours combined). In those ten events just mentioned, Detry has accumulated five top-24 finishes, including a second-place result at the 2022 Bermuda Championship.

In relation to this week’s current listed 2023 Corales Puntacana Championship field, in the last 50 rounds played on the PGA Tour, Thomas Detry ranks ninth in strokes gained putting, fourth in birdie or better percentage, and first in bogey avoidance.

Thomas Detry finished 13th at the 2021 Corales Puntacana Championship.

Fabrizio Zanotti

Fabrizio Zanotti arrives at this week’s PGA Tour event on the heels of two consecutive top-23 finishes, including a ninth place at the 2023 Thailand Classic.

I also like the fact that Zanotti has posted a quality result at the Corales Golf Club previously. Zanotti finished 22nd at the 2021 Corales Puntacana Championship.

Erik Van Rooyen

In January, Van Rooyen posted a final round 62 en route to an eventual sixth place finish.

It should be noted that Van Rooyen is a much better golfer than his results over the last year indicate. Van Rooyen was injured over the last year which had an impact over his results. Having stated that, I think Van Rooyen’s overall game is trending in a positive direction.

Last week, Van Rooyen illustrated what he can do in a PGA Tour event when fully healthy. More specifically, Van Rooyen finished tenth at last week’s 2023 Valspar Championship.
