Keith Mitchell (+12000)

A triple-digit longshot who will be no stranger to this part of the country having gone to school in state at the University of Georgia.

Keith Mitchell is back in the Masters for the second time having not qualified for the iconic major since 2019 when he finished in a share of 43rd place at Augusta National.

The 31-year-old made his way back inside of the top 50 in the Official World Golf Rankings to book his spot in the Masters in large part thanks to his performance at the Genesis Invitational in February when he went toe to toe down the stretch with Jon Rahm and Max Homa at Riviera en route to an eventual 5th place finish.

He has made eight starts in 2023 and finished top 5 in two of them, at the aforementioned Genesis (5th) and the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am (4th). Mitchell has missed just one cut in those eight events and that came at the very beginning of 2023 at the Sony Open in Hawaii.

The Sea Island, Georgia, resident is gaining over a stroke on average from tee to green in 2023, good for third best in the field. The experience he gained from leading the Genesis Invitational this year and taking on two of the stars in the sport down the stretch at Riviera should serve Mitchell well in the future.

He can contend this week if he has all cylinders of his game clicking.

While it’s unlikely that we don’t see one of the world’s best players putting on the Green Jacket come Easter Sunday, if there is to be another surprise winner at Augusta National, these three longshots have as good a chance as any at the 87th Masters.

The 87th Masters gets underway on Thursday, April 6th.
