Jordan Spieth poised for back-to-back Harbour Town wins?
Following a strong finish at the year’s first major last week, is Jordan Spieth on the verge of winning once again?
A year on from winning the RBC Heritage, Jordan Spieth returns to Harbour Town this week as he aims to become the first back-to-back winner of the tartan jacket in the state of South Carolina since Davis Love III successfully completed the double back in 1991 and 92.
If he is to accomplish the feat this week on Hilton Head Island he will need to outlast one of the strongest fields of the year. The RBC Heritage has traditionally been played the week following the Masters and now for the first time, it will be able to boast one of the strongest fields of the year as well.
The 55th playing of this special event has been awarded ‘Designated Event’ status this year. As such, 20 of the world’s top 25 players, per the official world golf ranking, will be in attendance this week.
Jordan Spieth returns to the site of his last win on tour in good form following three top 5 finishes in his last five starts, this includes at last week’s 87th Masters Tournament where the four-time major winner turned in a scintillating Sunday-66 en route to a T4 finish in the first major championship of the year.
Can Jordan carry the excellent momentum from last week at Augusta into this week? Let’s examine Spieth’s chances of making it back-to-back wins at the RBC Heritage.

What are Spieth’s chances of making the cut?
Jordan Spieth can be found at -500 to make the weekend at Harbour Town this year. That gives the defending champion about an 80% chance to make the cut.
The 29-year-old hasn’t missed a cut since the Genesis Invitational in February and he has made the weekend in each of his last six starts at the RBC Heritage.
2023 RBC Heritage Prediction for Jordan Spieth
Jordan Spieth comes into this year’s RBC Heritage playing better recently than he was prior to his win last year. In 2022, Spieth had missed the cut in two of his previous four starts with no finish better than T35 prior to his win at Harbour Town.
Another win appears as though it could be right around the corner for Jordan with how well he has been playing of late, but after comments about fatigue following last week at the Masters, it seems as though the more likely outcome is another top 10 finish.
Here is what Spieth had to say in his post-Masters press conference last weekend when asked about what he attributed some mental mistakes to:
"“I think I played way too much golf into this. I came in mentally fatigued, and you overwork this week every year. I played way too much golf in the last — I mean, this is eight out of ten weeks. So I need to change my schedule up going forward to be a little sharper this week. I think that has a lot to do with it.” – Jordan Spieth"
Jordan Spieth contends again this week, but in the end, the tartan jacket is handed out to a new champion on Sunday at this year’s RBC Heritage.
