Kim Squared is an intriguing duo.

The two with the same last name paired up for the final four-ball session at the 2022 Presidents Cup. They meshed well, winning 1 Up over the formidable pair of Patrick Cantlay and Xander Schauffele.

Kim/Kim were 2 Down before an eagle on 11 ignited their round. Then Kim rolled in a birdie putt on 18 that sent him and his team into a frenzy.

It helped the International team win that session 3-1 and bring them within 11-7 going into Sunday singles. The comeback never materialized, but a star was born in Tom Kim, who played well throughout the week.

"“Yeah, it was an honor. I’ve known Si Woo for a little bit, and I felt like we were a really good duo for the afternoon team. I’ve told him from the start that we’re going to be able to do this,” Tom Kim was transcribed by ASAP Sports during the Presidents Cup. “We know each other’s game so well, and you just got to keep sticking it.”"

The 20-year-old Tom Kim is already a two-time winner on the PGA Tour. He got it done at the Wyndham Championship and Shriners Children’s Open. Tom Kim’s made six of his last seven cuts leading into the week.

Si Woo Kim is still just 27 years old, but he’s the veteran of the two with nearly a decade out on the PGA Tour. He’s got four PGA Tour wins.

Si Woo’s recent form shows made cuts in four of his last five stroke play events. He’s got a win in 2023 at the Sony Open in Hawaii.

This is the Zurich Classic of New Orleans debut for Tom. Si Woo last played in 2019 when he missed the cut alongside another countryman, Sangmoon Bae.

Both Tom and Si Woo are top-25 on the PGA Tour in strokes gained tee-to-green. If they can roll in enough putts, they’ll be in good shape come Sunday.
