2023 Mexico Open at Vidanta Purse: Final Payouts by Finishing Position
Breaking down this week’s 2023 Mexico Open at Vidanta Purse, Winnings, and Payouts by position at Vidanta Vallarta.
Following a congested run of designated events on the PGA Tour schedule in recent months a two-week hiatus has ensued. The 2023 Mexico Open at Vidanta marks the second consecutive event on tour without ‘elevated’ status.
As such, this week’s 7.7 million dollar purse fails in comparison to some of the big money prizes that have been dished out already this year. Nonetheless, the winner of Mexico’s National Open will still walk away with a handsome payday.
The second-ever playing of the Mexico Open at Vidanta Vallarta is poised to deliver an exciting finish once again as familiar names have ascended to the top of the leaderboard after 54 holes for the second year running.
Tony Finau (-19) leads the way heading into the final round with the five-time PGA Tour winner looking to claim his first win of 2023. Finau, who finished runner-up at the 2022 Mexico Open at Vidanta, is looking for his second win this season after his triumph at the Cadence Bank Houston Open last November.
World number one and Masters champion, Jon Rahm, is hot on Finau’s heels heading into the final round at Vidanta Vallarta. The defending Mexico Open champion currently sits two shots off the pace as he looks to win for an incredible 5th time already in 2023.
Meanwhile, two of the game’s bright young talents also find themselves in the mix after 54 holes of this year’s Mexico Open. Both 21-year-old Akshay Bhatia (-17), and 26-year-old Brandon Wu (-16), will be looking for their first PGA Tour win on Sunday at Vidanta Vallarta. Both players have won previously on the Korn Ferry Tour.
The 2023 Mexico Open champion will walk away from this week with a cool 1.386 million dollars. Here is a complete breakdown of this week’s purse by finishing position.
