Legendary sports commentator Jim Nantz took another hilarious shot at LIV Golf during Thursday’s broadcast of the 2023 PGA Championship.

CBS’ Jim Nantz is a television and sports icon who has commentated on the biggest sporting events throughout his illustrious career.

The beloved sportscaster already made headlines at last month’s Masters when he took a subtle and clever shot at LIV Golf during CBS’s coverage of the third round at Augusta National.

When speaking after current LIV star and four-time major winner Brooks Koepka had hit a shot during the first major of the year, Nantz famously chimed in with “There it is right on the CW … the crosswalk,” after the 2023 Masters runner-up had approached his shot on the 15th hole crosswalk.

Television network ‘The CW’ agreed to broadcast the PGA Tour rival earlier this year and the network made headlines last week after comically cutting away from the LIV Golf event in Tulsa at a crucial time last Sunday.

The LIV event was eventually won by two-time major winner Dustin Johnson after he had forced his way into a playoff before eventually beating out Cameron Smith and Branden Grace at the Tulsa event.

Jim Nantz was seemingly up to his old tricks once again on Thursday.

Dustin Johnson and a number of other LIV stars made the trip to New York this week for the year’s second major championship, the 105th PGA Championship at Oak Hill Country Club.

And it didn’t take long into Thursday’s opening round broadcast before Jim Nantz once again had cleverly slid in another subtle shot at the rival tour.

Speaking during the broadcast, Nantz hilariously commented, “not sure if you were able to see it but DJ won last week,” as Johnson began his opening round of this year’s championship.

Regardless of the LIV Tour’s players’ performance in the majors, it appears as though the quick-whitted Jim Nantz is wasting no time with his comical potshots at the rival tour.
