Tyrrell Hatton has been trending toward his second PGA Tour victory for quite some time. He enters on a streak of four straight top-20s, including T-3rd at a designated event like this week, the Wells Fargo Championship.

Hatton is rested after taking last week off following T-15th at the PGA Championship.

No one will confuse him for a football star, but Hatton says getting in better shape has helped him perform better on the course.

“I’ve been doing more off the golf course this year in terms of training and stuff, and that’s been nice to sort of show some positive results on the golf course,” Hatton was transcribed by ASAP Sports at the PGA Championship.

He’s arriving to the Memorial Tournament for the second time. Hatton carded 71-72-72-70 for T-33rd.

The Englishman is up to third on the PGA Tour this season in total strokes gained per round (2.058). He’s top 50 in every SG category, including sixth off-the-tee (1.545).

Hatton isn’t a bomber by any means, but he’s right on the line of having enough length to compete week in and week out on the PGA Tour. He was 56th (305.7) in driving distance last year and 53rd (304.8) in 2022-23.

The rough can be thick at Muirfield Village. Hatton is 27th in approach proximity from the rough (42’7”).

He tends to play his best golf at tough courses and in tough conditions. These elements can lead to some hilarious outbursts, but Hatton is good about letting his anger out quickly before moving on to the next shot.
