Fantasy Golf: 2023 RBC Canadian Open DFS Player Selections

This week, the PGA Tour travels north for the 2023 RBC Canadian Open. A quality field of talent, including defending champion Rory McIlroy, will compete to win Canada’s most prestigious golf event. Let’s take a look at this week’s tournament from a fantasy golf perspective.

*The 2023 RBC Canadian Open will be played at the Oakdale Golf & Country Club in Toronto, Canada. It should be noted that the Oakdale Golf & Country Club will be making its debut as a tournament host on the PGA Tour. Keep that in mind as your construct your fantasy golf lineups this week.    

Before I discuss my fantasy golf player selections I wanted to emphasize that the purpose of this article is not to provide an exact lineup for a specific fantasy provider.

Having stated that, this article will provide multiple player options in an effort to assist the reader in generating a unique lineup that will hopefully have the potential to win a GPP (guaranteed prize pool) contest!

Here are my fantasy golf player selections for the 2023 RBC Canadian Open!

Justin Rose

Justin Rose has accumulated four consecutive top 25 finishes on the PGA Tour, including an impressive ninth-place result at the 2023 PGA Championship three weeks ago.

In relation to this week’s current listed 2023 RBC Canadian Open field, in the last 12 rounds played on the PGA Tour, Justin Rose ranks second in strokes gained tee to green, eighth in strokes gained ball striking, second in birdie or better percentage, and tenth in bogey avoidance.

It should be noted that Justin Rose finished fourth at the 2022 RBC Canadian Open.

Shane Lowry

The 2019 Open Champion arrives at this week’s 2023 RBC Canadian Open in relatively good form. More specifically, Lowry has accumulated two consecutive top 16 finishes on the PGA Tour, including a 12th-place result at the 2023 PGA Championship.

Sahith Theegala

Since the beginning of February, Sahith Theegala has played ten tournaments on the PGA Tour. In those ten events just mentioned, Theegala has accumulated five top 14 finishes, including a ninth-place result at the 2023 Masters Tournament in April.

Tommy Fleetwood

Tommy Fleetwood has accumulated three consecutive top 18 finishes in his last four events played on the PGA Tour, including a fifth-place result at the 2023 Wells Fargo Championship last month.

In relation to this week’s current listed 2023 RBC Canadian Open field, in the last 12 rounds played on the PGA Tour, Tommy Fleetwood ranks eighth in GIR (greens in regulation), seventh in strokes gained tee to green, and 11th in strokes gained around the green.
