Sahith Theegala continues to show consistency beyond his years. The 25-year-old PGA Tour sophomore is up to 13 straight made cuts in stroke play events dating back to September.

He’s on a bit of a downturn with nothing better than T-40th in his last three starts, but at least Theegala is keeping it together to make a paycheck week in and week out.

The Pepperdine alum owns seven top-10s in the 2022-23 PGA Tour season. He came close to notching his first win with T-2nd at the RSM Classic.

Theegala made the cut at the 2022 RBC Canadian Open, taking T-53rd at St. George’s.

The Californian ranks 39th on the PGA Tour in total strokes gained per round (.703). He’s in the positive in all categories except for off-the-tee.

Theegala can have a flare for the dramatic, ranking fourth in hole-outs with 16 so far in 2022-23.

He’s eighth in putting average (1.708) and tends to get better with the flat stick as the tournament progresses. That’s to be expected for a young player seeing greens for the first or maybe second time.

Theegala is 125th in putts per round in round one (29.12), 59th in round two (28.41), 27th in round three (27.94), and 12th in round four (27.13).

He posted his best career finish in a major this year with a solo ninth at the Masters.

Theegala grew up in the Los Angeles area, so you know he’s fired up to tee it up in front of family and friends next week at LACC. I expect him to get his game in form this week in advance of his big moment.
