What a WYN! Wyndham Clark The Shark cashes at 85/1 at The US Open! Let’s go back to back at The Travelers Championship, one of my favorite tournaments on the PGA TOUR calendar.

TPC River Highlands, a lovely Par 70, 6,852 yard course nestled in Cromwell, Connecticut, once again hosts The Travelers Championship. This is an elevated event, meaning all the top stars will be teeing it up and seeking the $3.6M winner’s share.

2023 Travelers Championship

  • Dates: June 22-25, 2023
  • Golf Course: TPC River Highlands in CT
  • Course Notes: Par 70 / 6,852 Yards
  • Prize Money / 1st: $20M / $3.6M
  • Defending Champ: Xander Schauffele (+2000)

We’ve got our eyes on 2 ball-strikers to contend in Connecticut. Both of these young aces are coming off strong performances at the US Open, and are due to get back in the winner’s circle very soon (hopefully this weekend).

Collin Morikawa (+2200)

After a sudden WD while in the mix to win before the final round at The Memorial (back spasms), Morikawa was showing signs of returning to his championship ways. The 2-time major champ is coming off a T14 at The US Open and is quietly putting together a strong 2nd half to his season.

Sitting at #29 in the FedEx Cup standings, Collin is #2 on TOUR in “Strokes Gained – Approach To Green”, #6 in “Driving Accuracy”, and 8th in “Greens in Regulation %”. TPC River Highlands rewards great iron play, it’s not a long course, making Morikawa a dangerous man on this property.

If he can get his putter to cooperate, and simply be average in “Strokes Gained Putting”, Morikawa could be in for a big-time weekend in Connecticut.

Tom Kim (+4500)

The Traveler is a fitting name for young Tom Kim, who’s trekked much of the world playing golf at a high level. The #18 player in the FedEx Cup standings tees it up in Cromwell at the 2023 Travelers Championship brimming with confidence.

Off the heels of a T8 at the US Open, Kim makes his maiden voyage to TPC River Highlands in very good form. Ranked 8th on TOUR in “Strokes Gained – Approach to Green”,  #4 in “Driving Accuracy”, and #7 in “Greens in Regulation %”, Kim’s game sets up well at one of the shorter courses we play all season.

Similarly to Morikawa, it’s all about the flat stick for Tom Kim. Pinpoint accuracy is the name of the game in Cromwell, and Kim could light up this property by peppering fairways and greens.
