Rickie Fowler’s opening round of the Rocket Mortgage Classic was under control and full of birdies. That was until trouble- and nature- struck his final two holes.

Rickie Fowler bogeyed his final two holes, the par-4 8th and par-3 9th after not recording a bogey since his second hole of the day, the par-3 11th. The reason for the sudden double-bogey and loss of momentum?

A needed trip to the restroom.

Fowler was asked in his post-round conference how he handles ending a round on a sour note; if he goes to the range after or tries to leave it in the past and re-group the next round. For Fowler, the answer to his trouble on 8 and 9 had less to do with the mechanics of golf and more to do with a need we all face from time to time on the golf course.

“No, it is what it is. I mean, to be perfectly honest, I had to go to the bathroom pretty badly, so luckily I just got drug tested so I went straight in,” Fowler candidly confessed.

(Is it inappropriate to wonder if perhaps the former Cowboy is overhydrating on the golf course as he carries around his nearly-made famous sticker-clad water bottle? Just kidding.)

Rickie Fowler went on to explain his unfortunate predicament.

"“There weren’t many bathrooms the last five holes so I was a little shaky coming in, and not to necessarily blame the finish on that, but it didn’t help.” – Rickie Fowler"

Hey- if you were feeling a little bit of FOMO as you watch your favorite golfers play beautiful courses around the world, take comfort in knowing you’re never too far from the restroom at your trusted local par-3.
