This week, the PGA Tour presents fantasy golf fans with the 2023 John Deere Classic. Let’s take a look at this week’s PGA Tour event from a fantasy golf perspective.

The 2023 John Deere Classic will be played at TPC Deere Run in Silvis, Illinois. The golf course is a par 71 that measures approximately 7,289 yards.

Before I discuss my fantasy golf player selections I wanted to emphasize that the purpose of this article is not to provide an exact lineup for a specific fantasy provider.

Having stated that, this article will provide multiple player options in an effort to assist the reader in generating a unique lineup that will hopefully have the potential to win a GPP (guaranteed prize pool) contest!

Now let’s shift our attention to my favorite fantasy golf/DFS player selections!

2023 John Deere Classic DFS Player Selections

Denny McCarthy

Denny McCarthy has accumulated two top-seven finishes in his last three tournaments played on the PGA Tour, including a second-place result at the 2023 Memorial Tournament four weeks ago.

In relation to this week’s current listed John Deere Classic field, in the last 12 rounds played on the PGA Tour, Denny McCarthy ranks first in strokes gained putting, fifth in birdie or better percentage, seventh in bogey avoidance, and 12th in driving accuracy.

Denny McCarthy also finished sixth at the 2022 John Deere Classic.

Lucas Glover

The 2009 United States Open champion arrives at this week’s PGA Tour event in rather good form. More specifically, Glover has accumulated two top 20 finishes in his last three events played, including a fourth-place result at last week’s 2023 Rocket Mortgage Classic.

It should also be noted that Lucas Glover won the 2021 John Deere Classic.

Callum Tarren

Last week, the 32-year-old Englishman fired a first-round 67 en route to an eventual 29th-place finish.

In relation to this week’s current listed John Deere Classic field, in the last 12 rounds played on the PGA Tour, Callum Tarren ranks 13th in GIR (greens in regulation), fifth in driving accuracy, and third in strokes gained ball striking.

In my opinion, Callum Tarren has the perfect skill set to perform well at TPC Deere Run. Having stated that, I certainly like Callum Tarren’s chances of posting a quality result at this week’s 2023 John Deere Classic.
